Welcome
The Alberta Onsite Wastewater Management Association (AOWMA) is the provincial
not-for profit organization established to educate, train and certify industry
professionals. The association engages its member installers, septage haulers,
suppliers, municipalities and provincial government departments to arrive
at sound practices that strengthen the industry, and ensure safe and effective
septage management for all rural Alberta.
Updates
Standard of Practice
The Province will be sending out the Private Sewage System Standard of Practice,
likely in May for another round of Municipal and industry feedback. This additional
consultation process is required because there was a great deal of input that
industry and municipalities provided to the previous draft, and it is important
to ensure that as much of this input as possible is reflected in the new standard.
However, there will be no meetings to review the latest draft. Instead . .

Download a copy of the At-Grade Guidelines
The At-Grade Guidline is now ready for submission to the appropriate regulatory
bodies for their review. This guideline is now being tested and researched
at two locations in Alberta: 1) Fish Creek near Calgary and 2) Leduc County.
Information will be available in upcoming newsletters regarding the progress
of those two research sites. Worksheets are included in the guideline to help
designers and installers with the design process.
