Biography
Allow me to introduce myself; My name is Linda Finstad owner/designer
of Hats by Emmanuel.
Canada's leading manufacturer of specialty headwear. Established 1999
Although Hats By Emmanuel is a retail/ wholesale operation the heart
and soul of the business is to make a difference by actively supporting
ladies and children experiencing hair loss due to chemotherapy. By addressing
all areas of a woman's busy life, designs are created that allow her to
live it to the full.
Hats By Emmanuel Gives more than just Great Service:
2000 - To achieve this goal Hats by Emmanuel produced and donated over
100 copies of "Fashion with Compassion"
video workshop. The videos were distributed to cancer hospitals. Clinics,
support groups and Canadian cancer Society offices right across Canada.
The video features 3 ladies with breast cancer who share their experiences
and solutions to the hair loss problem. They beautifully model styles
to take you through every activity and season. Linda Finstad guides the
viewer through how to choose the perfect hat she even shows how to make
turbans and sleep caps.
2001- Hats by Emmanuel coupled with various charities to provide free
specialty hats for children with cancer. Children's hats are very special
because they have hair sewn right into them. The program was initially
started here in Northern Alberta, however Southern Alberta soon followed
suit. The program has also been accepted in Ottawa and the kids with cancer
in Ontario now also receive subsidized headwear. Work will continue to
make this program available in all the provinces.
Identity Dolls were given to 6 children's hospitals across the country.
These bald dolls came with a wardrobe of specialty hats and "Hat
Hair" attachments. So the children could identify and learn how to
solve their (no hair) problem in play
2002 is the year Hats by Emmanuel will endeavor to make Free specialty
headwear a reality for women.
"The Fashion with Compassion Fund" was started by a private
donation from a very generous lady; other people with a desire to make
a difference have also given money to the fund.
Also 10% of Profits from Hats By Emmanuel is donated to the fund
