Welcome
to our web page at SPA for life!
We know that physical training has some value, but godliness
has value for all things, in this life and forever. The
quality of life Jesus wants us to experience is captured
in His invitation that: "I came so they can have real
and eternal life, more and better life than they ever dreamed
of." (John 10 Message)
At Southside Pentecostal
Assembly, we are
a diverse group of people who have been drawn together for
life in Christ Jesus. The atmosphere of this church family
is:
Spiritual
reality:
We are a people who are in a life long process of becoming
more like Jesus. We want each person to sense that SPA is
a place for them to belong.
|

|
Prayer:
This should be as natural as the air we need to breathe.
Jesus said His house will be called a house of prayer. Taking
time here to believe God for needs, times of corporate prayer,
and individual and group prayer are the keys to our tomorrows.
We want each person to sense that SPA is a place for them
to believe.
Acceptance:
People need to know that they matter to God and to
us. We want each person to sense that this is a place for
them to become.
Why
not join us if you live in the area, or drop in when you
are visiting. We are SPA for Life! We look forward to meeting
you… Pastor Doug & Wanda

Pastor
Reinhold & Elsie Herms
Pastoral Care, German Ministries, & Visitation |
It
has been a privilege and joy, for my wife Elsie and myself,
to be active in pastoral ministry for over 36 years. We
have pastored English/German churches in Winnipeg, Ottawa,
London, Chilliwack, and Edmonton. Our three sons and 1 daughter
are all married, and we are the fond grandparents of 7 grandchildren.
Here
at Southside, as minister of pastoral care, minister of
German ministries, and minister to the Active Adults (55+),
God has opened the door of ministering to the body of Christ
in manifold ways. We are blessed to be in a congregation
of spiritual depth and strength, and by God’s grace
the work of the Lord has, and still is, expanding in many
ministries and outreaches. We care about the spiritual and
physical well being of our people, and it is my privilege
to pray with those that are sick, in hospitals, or any other
special need. God answers prayer!
|
 |
As
well, every Sunday morning,
Southside ‘s German members are ministered to in their
own language by the German Choir, and my ministry as German
pastor. Wednesdays and Fridays, German Bible study and prayer
meetings are enjoyed by our members. God, by His Holy Spirit,
is moving in our services - everyone is invited.
A special ministry
that has blessed our seniors, is the Active Adults, 55+.
Monthly fellowship meetings that include a meal, special
speaker and special music, enrich our fellowship as believers
of mature experience. Although our meetings are very well
attended, there is always room for more to join in. Welcome!
It would be a joy to meet you. |

What
an absolute joy it is for us to be a part of the SPA team!
Each
day we are given the privilege of connecting with people,
some as acquaintances, others a dear friends and family.
It is our hearts' desire to impact and make a difference
in the lives of those God brings our way and to encourage
to do the same.
As
part of the SPA team we have the wonderful privilege of
focusing on and implementing small groups. SPA Small
Groups are a fantastic opportunity to develop community,
make lasting friendships and have unity with others.
All of this happens through times of Bible study, group
involvement, personal examination and social interaction.
It is in this spirit of community and relationship that
we offer adult small groups on both Sunday mornings (SMA)
and Wednesday evenings. Class themes range from topical
studies, evangelism, new believer's and marriage enrichment
to moms with small kids, encouragement and personal growth. |
Another
exciting small group being offered on an on-going basis
is the familiar world-wide non-denominational ALPHA course
for those who are searching, asking and wondering about
what it means to be a follower of Jesus Christ. This
small group happens Tuesday evenings.
Please
consider joining us for one of these life-changing small
groups!
For
further information on participating in our small group
ministry, please contact the church office. We can
also be reached at dale@spaforlife.com and would
welcome your emails. |

Pastor
Sue Spinks
Children's
Ministries
|
Since 1989, Pastor
Sue has been involved in Children's and Music Ministry
in New Brunswick, Quebec, Ontario, and now in Edmonton.
She has also had the privilege of traveling to various
parts of Canada as a Children's Evangelist at camps, VBS
outreaches, Kidz Krusades, etc. No matter where
she has been, she has observed that children everywhere
are open to receiving the Word of God, and are hungry
to become more like Him.
Pastor
Sue's desire is that as soon as they have understanding,
they will make an eternal decision for Jesus Christ, and
from that point on, to see them grow continually in their
walk with Him. It is her goal to train them in the
areas of ministry that God has equipped them for, and
to release them at a young age to minister to others using
the gifts and talents God has already placed within them.
Psalm 8:2 says, "From the lips of children and
infants you have ordained praise because of your enemies,
to silence the foe and the avenger."
|
 |
By
simply praising God from the heart, she believes children
can bring down the strongholds of the enemy without even
realizing it.
Here
at SPA, we have a variety of
ministries that touch the lives of all children from birth
- Grade 6. For more information, check out our Children's
page under "Ministries".

Sue at sue@spaforlife.com |
